Why did you choose to specialize in psychiatry?

I grew up in a culture where mental health was ignored and grossly stigmatized, which forced those who were suffering, to painfully suffering in silence. This problem exists in many cultures and communities. Therefore, I wanted to be an agent of change and provide people with a confidential avenue to receive the treatment they need, in order to begin living again, instead of just existing. Your mental health is a key component in your overall well-being.

What’s the most inspiring part of your job?

Visibly seeing my patients come in one way and leaving completely reformed over time. This transformation positively impacts their social relationships, school and work performance, and increases their self-esteem.

Why the name Mind Revive Psychiatry LLC?

Many individuals feel as if they have lost themselves to different life stressors and events, leaving them emotionally drained and uncertain as to how to get their mental health back on track. By definition, revive means to bring back to life and my ultimate goal is to help individuals revive their mind, through evidence-based psychiatry.
